Configuring text / SMS compliance

Prior to texting (SMS) contacts, it is required that you have received their consent to do so, and in initial texts sent to contacts, it is required that you provide them with instructions for opting out of texts. To confirm that this consent has happened and opt-out instructions are provided, the first text sent by a unique rep from Sellfire to a unique contact in Sellfire will automatically include text opt-in acknowledgement and text opt-out instructions in the text copy.

Default messaging

By default, the following opt-in acknowledgement, opt-out instructions, and order of that copy as it relates to the reps' / templates' messages will be included in these initial texts.

  • Opt-in acknowledgement default: Thanks for opting in to text messages from us.
  • Opt-out instructions default: Reply STOP to stop receiving these messages.
  • Default order of content:
    Opt-in acknowledgement
    <rep or template copy>
    Opt-out instructions
    • Example where "Hey John, just confirming our appointment at 3pm ET today." is the rep's message :
      Thanks for opting in to text messages from us.
      Hey John, just confirming our appointment at 3pm ET today.
      Reply STOP to stop receiving these messages.

Configurations

In System Configuration > Templates and Automation > SMS Settings, Enablement users are able to choose 1 of 7 opt-in acknowledgement options and 1 of 7 opt-out instruction options that work best for your organization (shown below) and can also determine the order of those messages as they relate to the text copy that reps manually enter or automated templates enter on reps' behalves.

Configure the order of the opt-in, opt-out, and reps' copy

At the bottom of the page in the Configure Order of Messaging section, drag and drop the message types to reorder them. The top message will appear on the first line of the text, the middle message on the second line, and the bottom message on the last line of the text.

Click SAVE to apply your updates

Rep preview

When reps are composing these first texts to contacts, they will see a preview of what will be sent to the contact at the bottom right of the SMS  / text composition screen (shown below).
