Registering your email domain

Register your organization’s domain in Sellfire to have automated and manual emails sent by reps from Sellfire reference your domain instead of sellfire.com.

For example, if the domain you register in Sellfire is “biz.com,” when opened by prospects, emails sent from Sellfire will have the rep’s email address before the “@” that is being used for their Edition in Sellfire followed by “@biz.com.” So if the rep’s name is “Jane Smith,” their email address in Sellfire is “jsmith@biz.com,” and you register “biz.com” in Sellfire via the below process, automated and manual emails associated with that rep will have “Jane Smith | Biz <jsmith@biz.com>” (shown below) in the top left when opened by prospects.

DNS registration process

  1. In Sellfire, Enablement users navigate to System Configuration > Register Domain.
  2. Enter your organization’s domain in the Domain You Send From field and click Next Step.
  3. A table will populate with three values. Copy those values. You will enter these in your DNS settings. Do NOT click the Verify checkbox yet.
    • If your product uses Sendgrid to send emails, please reach out to our Support team (support@sellfire.com), and we will provide you with CNAME records that differentiate from your product offering.
  4. Navigate out of Sellfire to the DNS settings for your organization’s domain (typically managed by your domain registrar or hosting provider).
  5. Navigate to the Points to field (this field could also be named Data) in your DNS settings, paste the three values that you copied from Sellfire per step 3 above, and save those values.
    • If your DNS records have a TTL field populated, leave this as the default value.
  6. Back in Sellfire, click the Verify checkbox.
    • If successfully connected, a confirmation notification will appear, which indicates that your reps’ emails will now be sent from your registered domain.
    • If not connected successfully, a list of DNS records that do not match will appear. To correct this issue, validate that the Type, Host, and Points To (or Data) field values from Sellfire match what is in your DNS records. Please contact our Support team (support@sellfire.com), if needed.

Default functionality

Without this registration, all emails sent from Sellfire will have “[Rep first name] [Rep last name] | [Your Business Name] <[yourbusinessname]@sellfire.com>” in the top left when opened by prospects.

For example, again using “Biz” as the organization’s name and “Jane Smith'' as the rep name, all automated and manual emails associated with this specific rep in Sellfire will have “Jane Smith | Biz <biz@sellfire.com>” (shown below) in the top left when opened by prospects.
